Old Super Mario 64 possible conspiracy: your thoughts?

In Super Mario 64, when u go to the courtyard in the back, in the center there is a fountain with the statue of a star with blurry writing that some people claim that it says: “L is real 2041″ making some people think that Luigi is in the game and unlockable. I just want kind of an open discussion on this, just give your thoughts or maybe something proving either side, please note that this is the original Mario 64, NOT the DS version, where luigi is unlockable.

I think it’s just like a catchphrase that he hides in his games.
But maybe there covering something like a message to aliens to invade earth.
