Which game would you recommend : New Super Mario or Super Mario 64?

I got a Nintendo DS last christmas and i’m not really a “gaming” person, but i’m looking to buy some new games for it and i firgured I’d get a classic. It’s confusing though I’m not sure what the differences between New super mario and Super 64 is. I’m goin to get super princess peach because shes cute and yoshi’s island because the babies are cute.. lol but I need help deciding between New Super Mario and Super Mario 64.
Any suggestions and opinions will be welcomed.
